Prayer Station FAQ
Why do you do this?
Jesus, and his committed followers through the years, took the love of God into the market places of communities: cities, towns and villages. Many times He didn't preach. He just prayed for people's felt needs. That led to further conversation. That's what the Prayer Station ministry is all about. We don't force anything on anybody. We do offer free prayer, to those who want it. Often this leads into an opportunity to share more about God and what Jesus' life and ministry was all about.
What church are you with?
Prayer Stations was started by Nick and Rozanne Savoca, the Base Director of YWAM Metro NY and the opportunity has been passed on to others. Often times there will be several different churches represented at a Prayer Station or sometimes a church Sunday School class, Life Group, or Youth Ministry will join together to staff a Prayer Station.
Do you get paid?
No. Nor do we expect or want to. It is our privilege to stand in the gap and bring peoples felt needs to God.
How much does this cost?
There is no cost for setting up a Prayer Station, reserving one for your ministry need, or inviting Prayer Station volunteers to serve at your event. If you wish to purchase the actual Prayer Station Banner, table, carry bag etc. Please contact Prayer Station Director Brad Ralston at BRalston@missionbridge.org
Can I pray for you?
We will never turn down an opportunity for our ministry to be prayed for!
Can I make a donation?
We do not accept donations at the site of the Prayer Station under any circumstances. People should never feel like they have to pay to be prayed for.
How can I get involved?
There are several ways to get involved. We have regularly scheduled Prayer Stations at several sites throughout our community. More people are always needed (Pre-event training 30 minutes before is mandatory for new volunteers). You could also ask for training for your ministry group
Who's idea was this?
In preparation for the annual New Year's Eve Outreach in Times Square 1992, YWAM Base Director Nick Savoca prayed and asked the Lord what He would have them do as an evangelism strategy. In answer to his prayer, he clearly heard God say, "Pray for people on the street". Nick then asked…“God, give us a strategy.”
God gave them the strategy for setting up a Prayer Station and inviting people to stop and receive prayer for their felt needs. Now, we in the Canton/ Stark County community have the opportunity to multiply God’s strategy to pray for the felt needs in the marketplace!
Can I get info on how to purchase a Prayer Station?
Yes. Please contact Brad Ralston at BRalston@missionbridge.org and we will send you information on how to properly train your volunteers and the cost of the Prayer Station.
